The book is a capsule of his work as a cartoonist, caricaturist and a writer of satirical verse for two and half decades in the Goan media.
GGGG is in collaboration with the Lions Club of Arpora-Nagoa-Parra. The foreword has been written by fashion icon Wendell Rodricks. All of whom also share Alexyz’ commitment and concern for Goa.
The book will also be launched at the 2008 International Goan Convention in Toronto on 24 July and later on by Goa Sudharop at the Indian Community Center at Silicon Valley at San Francisco, USA on 8 August where Alexyz has also been invited. Besided the conventional speeches, Alexyz e o Amigos showcased every nuance of what art and culture is all about. It was a multifaceted exhibition with different art forms- music, constructive and guiding talks, and presentations of all things that are Goan.
Alexyz caricature of " Great Goans", were extremely worth the effort of the walk from my house to the venue. the photohraphs of Lui Godinho, Thomas Vaz, (who exhibited photographs from the Portuguese era), Alister Miranda, and joel D'Souza are memorable and must bepreserved for posterity.

When Rajan rose to reply to the felicitation speeches by several distinguished speakers, he detailed his irrepressible journalistic career right from Bombay where he was an integral part of anti-establishment journalists of the 70’s inspired by Che Guevera and other progressive leaders.
Rajan thanked Goans and all those who aided him in his arduous endeavour to echo the problems of the common Goans whenever they encountered injustice in one form or the other , and said that he was really proud to be part of those great historic movements like the Konkani language agitation and fight for Statehood which helped save Goa’s rich cultural heritage. | | _________________ |
ALEXYZ TREKKING THE HIMALAYAS
ALEXYZ WITH HIS WIFE TECLA AND DAUGHTER MAYMOONARA, SON-IN-LAW SAMIR BEHIND THE CAMERA |
Cartoonist Alexyz at 62 plus did the honours of being the senior-most trekker at the most recently concluded Indra Hara Pass Trek (14,000 ft. ) from May 11 to 23 rd May 1907, that took off from Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh.
The exciting trek was organised by Zhep Parivar a two decade old Poona based trekking and adventure sports organization. There were 40 trekkers in all.A merry mix of doctors, engineers, MBAs, professionals and students. Also in the gang was Fr. Francis D’Mello, Provincial of the Bombay Jesuits. 20 were from Poona. 10 from Goa. The rest were from Bombay, Nasik and Satara.
The Indra HaraPass is a trek route that is basically laid down by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, New Delhi. A very beautiful journey by foot that is traversed amidst lovely mountain flowers with little villages that are sprinkled on the mountain sides.
You see shepherds tending to their sheep at 8000 to 10,000 ft. and what with snow-capped mountains of the Himalayas looming overhead in all their awesome splendour. A glorious sight that literally takes your breath away.
At every halt for the day Alexyz took time off to do colour sketches of the amazing scenario around. He also did caricatures of the local villagers and trekkers.
Alexyz will hold an exhibition of these works on 10 July at the Get-together of all the trekkers in Poona of 8 trekking exhibitions that were organized by the Zhep Parivar. | | _________________ |
